Chef Steinar Rinaldo – Glþyp Spiseri

Steinar Rinaldo is a respected Norwegian chef and restaurateur whose career has been defined by a passion for regional ingredients, craftsmanship, and the principles of Nordic cuisine. As one of the pioneers of modern Nordic gastronomy in Norway, he has played an important role in highlighting the unique flavours and culinary traditions of the country’s western fjord regions.

Before establishing himself as a leading advocate for Nordic cuisine, Rinaldo spent a decade running the popular Café de France in Stavanger, where he became known for his innovative approach to food and wine pairing. His commitment to quality, locality, and authentic dining experiences continues to shape his culinary philosophy today.

At Glþyp Spiseri in Kinsarvik, surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of Hardanger, Rinaldo showcases the finest ingredients from the region’s orchards, mountains, and fjords. His cooking reflects a deep connection to nature and seasonality, transforming local produce into elegant dishes that celebrate the character and abundance of Norway’s culinary landscape.
